Anyone out there do their CFII initial ride recently. Mines coming up and I'm just looking for some tips on what to expect. I've heard some disconcerting things about the Fort Worth FSDO.
I did my CFI initial there. Who is your checkairman. You don't want to get "The Hammer" as he fails everyone. Outside of that they are ok for the mostpart. Why the CFII as your initial? Why not your CFI? You better have the FAR/AIM down cold and I mean cold. Don't take any oral guides or any books not written by the FAA there or they'll give you a pink. Also make VERY SURE you have all documentation on the aircraft and it's airworthy. Be able to show that all AD's have been complied with since they went into effect. A lot of places don't have a list showing all the AD's and their compliance when they should. My 172 has over 60. If he ask you to prove they've been complied with and you don't have a printout your in some deep doo doo. I didn't have them ask that on my CFI. But did on my CFII. I had never heard of anyone doing it before until then. The CFII was in Houston though.
