So although reserves may be abused more in the future (still very domicile and equipment dependent) hopefully pilots will be able to bid off reserve much more quickly by bidding into/staying in a junior position. Presently a lot of guys are truly stuck on reserve - once the movement starts, reserve will more of a choice for most pilots.
As far as furloughs go - I don't really don't so. 
Even if some improvident bean counter actually wanted to furlough it would cause too much A$$-pain for the company - removing seats from RJs, Flowing guys down to DCI IAW the flows etc. Most no furlough clauses are close to worthless (been furloughed with a no furlough clause in effect) our contract, while actually allowing furloughs makes it very, very inconvenient for the company to pull the trigger on a Furlough. Not saying it can't happen, but not worth worrying about.

Good point on movement....when hiring starts in 2014-15, guys will be able to get off reserve. One thing gone forever however, the ability of those toward the bottom of the list living in base to enjoy a greater quality of life by bidding reserve over a low quality line. Water under the bridge as with all work rule losses I suppose.
