I wonder how many Eastern, Braniff, Pan Am, "old" Frontier, etc. were surprised by the dramatic and sometimes sudden change in their company.

One day at a time. Zero expectations and unbridled optimism is my way of starting each day - I'm rarely disappointed.
If Frontier found an investor, I'd feel pretty confident that my job situation would remain unchanged in 6-12 months. My job situation has hardly changed from where I was 6 years ago. I had a little more seniority for about 18 months, and then the bankruptcy put me back where I've been sitting for the last 4.5 years. My pay is with a few dollars of where it was, my seniority is within a few numbers, and about all that's changed is I live in a different house and the kids are older.

That said, "Expectation is the death of serenity."
