A one fleet operation makes economical sense (Southwest). Here is a WAY OUT ON THE LIMB possibility. Delta decides to exercise complete control over its 900 regional fleet and guarantee a steady pilot supply over the next ten years. If I were in their shoes, I would buy Pinnacle (probably at a good price right now), transition to an all 900 fleet and establish a flow up / flow down program similar to what Compass had. Just another guess.
