I agree. It's an uphill battle. Drinking and piloting are associated too closely and many pilots are to blame. Compounding the issue is that many pilots come from the military, where drinking is also highly associated and even encouraged (binge-drinking military "balls"). People should be able to get together and have some drinks, but when you're on a trip or about to go, it shouldn't even be a thought that you are going to drink. That's the discipline that comes with the job.
