I took that update as very negative. It looks like just about every category is displacing including MD-88 as the 717's arrive. I already mentioned on hear I have heard the furlough word mentioned a couple times recently. That might not happen, but it is pretty obvious that we are still a few years away from hiring. I also thought the update was negative, but I think you are taking it a little too far. When I say negative, I guess I mean compared to my expectations which appear to have been a little too high.
Overall I think the bid will be net positive, with a bunch of new NB Captain positions, but falling short of what I was hoping for, which is a bid with few or (gasp) zero displacements - just positive movement.
It appears to me that a lot of the advancements will be cancelled out by displacements - this is very disapointing. Then again, maybe we will be pleasantly surprised.
