No, it doesn't. We don't eat during the flight because the F/As eat the left over meals, or put an extras in their cooler to take to the hotel or home to their cats.
There's a big difference here. We are paid to sit in our seats and fly, monitor, talk on the radio, navigate, etc. Sitting there and looking out the window and chatting (during non-critical phases of flight) is what is expected of us while at work.
Is sitting in the last row, eating, sleeping, and reading magazines expected of you during a flight? Or should you be serving the passengers who pay our paychecks?
I could have my Chief Pilot on the jumpseat on any given flight and not change a thing. Would you sit on the back row and do the above things with your supervisor on board?
