Skywest also has abruptly cancelled classes January classes and stopped hiring. Doesn't sound too good for Skywest Inc. Maybe the AMR deal falling through rumor was true, because RAH and Eagle continue to hire like crazy
Or maybe that was the plan the whole time. Telling guys that there is going to be a pilot shortage and hiring is going to be full force each month indefinitely is a surefire way to attract foolish newhires. If I was as gullible as I was when I started flight training I'd feel warm and cozy about those factors too. They couldn't get any applicants, then really ramped up hiring and people started flocking. They got what they wanted I'm sure........
