Suppose the merger never happened, and UAL got another concessionary contract out of their pilots, expanding Scope up to 95 seat aircraft. Shortly afterward they park the 'Busses, and furlough another 1,500 pilots. What would be a furloughed pilot's career expectations then be?
Or perhaps they continued to shrink to profitability by parking the older 74-Saurases. What then?

Uhh... NOAA defines "few" as 10%, so for a 30-40 year career that would be 3-4 years of furlough. How many of the current lUal furloughs have been furloughed for more than "a few years"?
