IMO the ideal thing would be to get a new passport with 52 pages. I am sure that Atlas would cut the required letter for expedited service.
Passport renewals are a pain once you are on line. On the other hand getting pages added can be done during a day at several of the common layovers.
Whatever someone does, don't do what some idiot did and show up at training with a passport that only had 8 months to run.
