External Description:
The first officer is under the direct supervision of the captain during flight
and shall carry out all instructions pertaining to the operation of the flight
as directed by the captain and as outlined in appropriate company manuals.
In the event the captain is incapacitated inflight, the first officer will
assume all duties and responsibilities of command.
The responsibilities of the first officer include:
The first officer is the designated second in command for a flight and is
directly responsible to the captain assigned to the flight.
The first officer is responsible for compliance with all Federal Aviation
Regulations, company regulations, departmental policies, guidelines and
contractual obligations applicable to their duties.
The first officer has the responsibility of aiding the captain in the safe and
efficient conduct of the flight, from pre-flight planning through termination
duties. The first officer is instrumental in helping to maintain a high degree
of crewmember coordination and cockpit discipline.
The first officer should constantly strive towards becoming proficient in the
duties and exercise of judgment as required of a captain.
The first officer must ensure compliance with mandated flight time limitations.
Maintain a high degree of proficiency and a thorough knowledge of the procedures
and systems in the aircraft they operate.
The first officer is responsible for maintaining his qualifications with
reference to route and airports, aircraft, medical certificate requirements, and
shall be responsible for notifying the company of changes in such
qualifications.
The duties of the first officer are as follows:
Thoroughly familiarize themselves with existing and forecast weather prior to
each flight.
Maintain all required publications issued to them in a current condition.
Provide the captain with any applicable information to assist the captain in
operational decision making.
Familiarize themselves with the airworthiness of the aircraft in accordance with
the procedures outlined in this manual, and ensure the appropriate pre-flight
has been accomplished.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Total Flight Time - 1500 Hours
Multi-Engine - 500 Hours
PIC - 500 Hours
Turbine - 500 Hours
ATP with Multi-Engine Rating
First Class Medical certificate
Bachelors degree preferred
COMPENSATION:
Minimum guarantee 70 hours per month
$40.79/ hour per CBA
