I'm sure there is alot of testing that needs to be done, plus wiring both sides of the cockpit with mounts and charging stations.
I heard in recurrent a week or two ago that the EFB was waiting on Jerry's signature on his desk. Your rumor fits the timeline. I certainly hope it's true. My flight back is on the verge of falling apart! Anyway, our (CRJ) instructors were pretty confident that they will be issued to individual pilots, not airplanes. So prospect of 'arming the 50 seaters with EFB' is irrelevant.
