The company does not have to shrink regional airframes. They are, however, obligated to ratio block hour with mainline narrowbody airframes. I think that you will see the rj fleet count grow while the mainline fleet count shrinks due to the fact that uch is the primary lease holder on most of the 50 seat airframes and will probably want to spread the flying around in in order max out their lifespan before the next major maintenance cycle. In other words, instead of parking a good airframe, they can use it to help extend the life of other airfeames.
I thought there was a 125 airframe Cap on 50 seaters? On the Jumpseat the Cal guys said it basically mirrored delta scope.
