The problem with defending an offense like the 49ers is you need to play zone defense most of the time in order to keep your eyes on the QB. This means a good pass rush is a must. If you can't get pressure on the QB in a zone he'll pick you apart. At least thats how I coached my 8 year old team last fall. I wonder why they didn't get it?
