Haha, I know. It makes no sense. But "word on the street" is that Shuttle and Republic will never merge because of the contract that S5 has with Delta. Apparently, don't quote me, the deal that S5 has with Delta says that we cannot fly anything greater than 70 seats with another airline. On S5 we do all 70 seats except for Delta we do up to 76 .This is why Republic got the AMR flying (175's greater than 70 seats) and not Shuttle.
That would make sense. However isn't the word on the street that S5 and YX manuals are being revised to be exactly the same in order to facilitate a merger and save some money?

I just think they didn't want Shuttle to do the flying cause then we would have AA, DL, and UA benefits while YX would only have US and UA so someone was butthurt by that and pulled the plug on S5 despite having to open yet another base. Lol.
