This may be true. However, Atlas may actually have a contract sooner than 5 years from now. If management senses that the current contract is (or might soon be) causing enough of a problem with retention and/or hiring, they could open negotiations earlier and offer better contract terms before the 5 year period is up. That has happened at other airlines.

Yes, even though it would make sense for ANY company that may experience an attrition problem, management (regardless of which company) would rather wait till the amendable date vice getting a CBA done early.
