Black/white, male/female, mil/civ....ANYONE hired at FedEx the since 2000 (and probably well prior) has done some mind-bending testing, a rigorous sim eval, and done an interactive CRM exercise with a Kobyashi Maru type no-win scenario. I've seen some of each fail, and a bunch of each make it. The bottom line is anyone who has made it through has earned it, and they get my complete respect when I see them on the property or on the flight deck.
