I'm studying for the ATP written and it appears there are several different versions of the test. I'm wondering if anyone knows if there is an advantage of taking one over another? For example there is the ATP, ATP-EX, ATA, ATA-EX....it would seem I would be able to get out of all those annoying DC-9/737/727 calculations if I just took either the ATP or ATP-EX. Point is, is it going to matter when I go to interview? Or will any of them do? Thanks!

Not sure what the EX or ATA stuff is about, but when you take the ATP written you have a choice of taking the part 135 or part 121 version. The regulatory questions are different, and I think the 135 version does not involve large airliners.

I would base that choice on what you think your next interview or checkride i sgoing to be.
