Maybe that is the problem. If someone tries to walk in a resume to hand into HR, they will politely ask the candidate to go through the same process as everyone else.

Your question is a fair one though, as it seems that Atlas has been hiring a lot more military cargo pilots recently. These specific pilots are an easy fit because this is similar to the type of flying that they already do. Furthermore, Atlas does not have to worry about one of these pilots quitting because of the 17-day stretch of being gone as they should be used to far longer stints.

However, as it has been said on this forum before, Atlas hires pilots from many different backgrounds. I have a civilian only background as did the majority of my initial new-hire class and the new-hire classes around mine.

Have you gone to a job fair and spoken with HR face to face?
