Yes it may not pay a mortgage, but 9E is a regional and there is plenty of hiring at VX and NK, plus AS and B6. You'd still have one year before a winddown to get full pay and then go to one of those 4 carriers. I know tons of guys getting calls and jobs at Spirit alone.
