I'm flying with a captain this month - he deviated to Paris last month and the overseas leg got cancelled due to the big snowstorm. It was a hairy story, involving sprinting through both ORD and Heathrow, all coach seats, three legs to get there in time...... When it first fell apart he called scheduling and their response was "you're deviating. Good luck."
