Anything marinated with vinegar/lemon juice is good because it helps preserve the meal on the road (3 bean salad comes to mind). I have no problem with a crew member talking about what they pack, I might learn from them. I have noticed that Trader Joe's has a lot of travel friendly foods. Why the animus against folks that bring their own meals/snacks? Agreed, there are many times where the only time you can eat is enroute. Many vendors at the terminals have food that is overpriced/calorically dense/unhealthy. I have personlly gotten sick from Subway at ORD and have heard similar situation at Heidi's in DEN. Eating out is always a risk,perhaps these flight crews that pack a lot of meals just want to avoid food poisoning.
