Sounding naiive I'm sure, but what's TacAir? I know that's a FBO-type company that has a bad rap and a quick turnover in the pilot ranks, but that's this in the military term? Tactical Air group? Squadron? Does this include fighters and bombers, fighters only, bombers only, what are the components?
In the context that I have used it, the term means Tactical Aviation.
On basic terms it means anything involved in offensive air - shoots or drops something - or the 'pointy-nosed' guys (though this would be very hard to call any type of A-6 variant 'pointy-nosed'
