You're correct. The big difference is purchase cost. Each new 777-300ER costs almost 10 times more.
Regarding comparisons of our current fleet, it becomes more interesting. When you compare an equal load factor and equal yield, the lowest cost aircraft on our property is the 757-300. The next lowest cost aircraft on our property is the 747-400. Now there's no question that the 777-300ER would best the 747-400
if the purchase cost were backed out of the equation, but that's unrealistic. The fact is that Boeing has built an incredible aircraft in the 777-300ER and they know it. If you want it, you gotta pay. In fact you gotta pay 10 times more than a 747-400.
We'll see what happens.
