The 744 at the 875K MTOW and PW engines seems to be able to carry 416 passengers and 48,000 pounds on said mission, is that right?
The 773 would carry 301 passengers and 4400 lbs of cargo, does that seem right? Of course this doesn't seem to be the 300ER either.

Well, contrary to sailingfun's postings earlier, the 744 is the second lowest CASM in the fleet, so long as you fill it up. It carries way more and flies a very similar range. The 773ER is closer to a 747-200 as far as capacity (more cargo though).
...and with a purchase price wayyyy below that of the 773ER, some lightly used 744s seem to make much more sense with DL's strategy.
UA sure makes a bunch of them work!
