You all have to stop with these "life events", beginning pilots have no room for wife (heaven forfend wives), kids, housing, etc. if it won't fit in your car (something small and cheap) and you can't eat it, you don't need it UNTIL at a major.

Actually, that's not true, hows he gonna be a good pilot without a divorce or two?
Don't forget there is a medical to worry about. Without that, you're just a guy with license and debt for the job you cant have now.
Don't mean to rain on the parade, but Ive lived both and with out a back up plan you could be in for a surprise one day as many pilots are.
That said, if its your dream, youll find a way and have fun!
