Plan on being in MIA. You will be on a set pay/per diem for class. They are going to try and cut costs by sending FLL based guys to the FLL sims for recurrent. That means no per diem and hotel anymore. Not saying you won't be in FLL but not as likely as a new hire. Besides MIA has 3 or 4 of the new sims.
MIA is not bad. Latin Cafe to the left of the hotel (best fried pork with rice and beans around), Catch of the Day--across the street (gotta get the fried red snapper upon completion of the type, and yes a bucket of beer), and the little cubano place by Airbus (outside and to the right). Great Cafe con Lenche (or however you spell it less say it)--and the view is nice depending on whos working that day
