One FO who is very junior told me it could cost her $30,000 over the years if there are too many no votes since she feels a better contract wouldn't be in place in the next 4-5 years if this is turned down. She has been telling CA's to not screw her over and no vote because they won't get a better offer for years. After this offer is voted out then negotiations start over from scratch I believe, somebody has been paid off.
It is very possible she is right. I have talked to a couple captains over there. Only 1 is voting yes. The rest were "hell no's." I doubt it will pass, but it will probably be closer than people think. Probably 70-30 no. You guys have lost badly. Admitting defeat if tough. Voting it in could very well be better for your pilot group long term, but that is a tough pill to swallow because it means the last 5 years of negotiating were for nothing. It's a bad situation. It's picking the less of the two evils at this point. I am not sure which answer is better, but she is entitled to her vote.
