I passed 10,000 last year. 3 types, but just over 1500 PIC turbine due to the post 9-11 industry turbulence. Hard to say whether it will be difficult to get an interview at a legacy since most legacies haven't been hiring for a long while. Bigger concern is golden handcuffs -- meaning going anywhere is a substantial pay cut for many, many years (admittedly, the left seat at all legacies would be a big pay increase - but who knows how long it would take to get there?)
And age. I'm 40, so time is running short to get on with a legacy and have it be worthwhile.
I was furloughed USAir and chose not to accept recall. More often than not I regret that decision.
