Clinton requested and got a deferrment. As did others. The difference? When he came back he knew the next would not be approved and he'd have to go. As opposed to Dick Cheney who got 5 deferrments because; "I had better things to do." Seems a lot of Republicans feel that way. Lotsa chickenhawks running loose on Capitol Hill.
