Yes, this is true, however it isn't all so rosy as the future for a good number of the pilots at Iberia is unknown. IAG, the parent company of Iberia and British Airways, started up a lowcost airline called Iberia Express, with much worse terms and conditions, in order to compete against other European lowcost airlines. One year after starting Iberia Express, IAG announced that they were going to purchase the remaining share of Vueling (the lowest A320 paying job in Europe) and that they were going to merge Vueling and Iberia Express and eliminate the Iberia Express brand which they just started. In addition to this, they are going to eliminate 25 shorthaul aircraft from their fleet, and 4500 employees. Essentially, short haul product is going away and being replaced by a low cost model.

Every guy in Spain wants to work at Iberia, but they haven't hired in 12 years and probably won't for a long time. Oh well
