We had long call and the CBA stated the pilot had to call in between 1400-1600 the day before (not sure of the exact times). Well, the company liked to schedule 6 days of reserve and people started complaining that if we are required to check our schedules that is a "responsibility to the company" and therefore not rest.
The POI agreed and 24hrs of rest was then required at some point during the 6 days.
Boomer where are you?
Would this also apply to Delta's requirement to check your schedule by 2am on your first on call day?
Seems like I remember this scenario being discussed before:
If you voluntarily check it at 3pm the day prior, all is well. If you wait to check it at 2am on your first on call day and you are assigned a morning short call, then you just interupted your required rest.
