Chances are that the merger will be "complete" before most of the UAL guys are recalled. There will be no CAL/UAL sides, just one airline. If recalled then, where do they go? Would they go to where the company needs them? So they could get EWR 737? Anyone know how it works after the integration?
They will go where the company has vacancies; or what would otherwise go to new hires. They will just get the first choice in class over new hires.
This is why the UA furlough coordinator was encouraging pilots to return sooner rather than later so that they can bid where they can hold after SLI vs. what is assigned to them (which may be Guam, whether they like it or not).
