Your post seemed as if you feel the only solution to the problem is to hire a significantly greater number than was quoted. I just wanted to point out there are other methods that are probably better in the long run for cost.

The regional model in itself is done. The rest rules and the ATP requirement will soon put an end to the nightmare. The only thing that will happen is a massive reduction in force do to majors taking back flying and a severe lack of qualified pilots willing to work for joke wages (no shortage). Mark my words, 5-6 years from now xjet will look nothing like it does today. We will shrink.
