But mark my words... SKW will NEVER buy PCL. Ever. If that's your savior plan, you'll be disappointed. I think SKW has had enough of acquisitions after our failed merger. And your fantasy that Delta can stipulate no merger might be frowned upon by the NMB when we file a single carrier petition. Much to learn you have, young Skywalker.
Proud no, rolling with the punches yes. I was a no voter because I thought my position was doomed no matter how the vote went. I had my interview prior to the vote at 9E and thought the no vote could help a future at XJT. Well most of my coworkers went for self preservation and now I have to decide what Im going to do based on the majorities decision. Funny though how XJT'ers didn't blow up to us how the vote could have screwed ya until after the vote was done. To most of us at 9E we didn't even know it was in your CPA to be the 2nd lowest cost DCI until after the fact. All we heard was a bunch of you guys telling us to vote no for the good of the industry. Delta dangled its carrots to get what it wanted and here we are today.

So SKW won't buy PCL...ok I believe that as much as I believed PCL wouldn't buy Mesaba. Introduce proverbial Delta gun to head of management just like they did to yours for that rate reset provision. If a major wants something, they WILL get it. Stranger things have happened and if there is one constant at regionals is uncertainty that ANYTHING can happen at the whims of it's mainline partners.

I agree with the previous poster. XJT's future is not rosey...as with any other regional. The likely short term scenario will be arbitrated rates on UAL side for 70 seaters much lower than ASA's, then those rates will be used to whipsaw the ASA side into a lower rate for a single contract between the two carriers. The recruiters already dropped the bomb to me that they are looking at a 2:1 swap on the United side. If the mainlines don't like it or don't like the speed at which costs drop, they will start shuffling the flying around. XJT will shrink...question is how much and how painful it is. At least ya guys have it going for you that the shrinking will most likely be outside of bankruptcy.
