Perhaps, but I imagine that most Compass applicants (at least initially) will have some experience with the CRJ/ERJ or other glass regional aircraft. In these cases, just like a DC-9 driver who has flown the 9 for years is all @$$es and elbows when they go to the airbus simulator, tossing a guy/gal that has years of EFIS experience into steam gauges won't be a good indicator of their ability as a pilot, particularly for employment at Compass.
Besides the DC-9's are going to be around forever. Seems to me like things are in the works to replace them with E190's here before too long.
