I don't really know how else to explain it, but I'll try and simplify. We bid based on what we know. If the company changes dramatically the details of a bid, it could change how an individual would input their preferences. In this case, the company completely eliminated the reduction of DTW after the bid close. By allowing the bid to open again for 24 hours, it ensures that all pilots seniority and contractual rights are honored.
