This is probably what management is counting on and for most guys / gals this will work. No one wants to start over after two years unless the move is in the right direction. The contract is also much easier to enforce in court with the bonus. The court system would more then likely at least make you repay the bonus. Unlike contracts at other places with no bonus, the contract is not enforceable.
