How much do you think the schedules will play into people bidding the 717? If you look at our DC9 schedules they are not good. Lots of 5 legs days short overnights and your variety is weak.
Will that affect some people and their desire to move up?

Also on a related note has it been addressed if the 717 will have 5 day trips? The DC9 has a few but does that mean the 717 will too?
Well, I have done those trips. 3-5 legs a day for 3-5 days straight. A grind when the weather is good, ugh when the wx is bad. I remember thinking "awesome, a 13 hour layover so I can eat, workout and sleep 8 hours". Now, the 717 will take a bit of the sting out of it with the FMS, GPS, but the trips will be a bit worse than before on the DC-9 a few years back, IMO.

It took a while to figure out why there were so many senior FO's vs. junior Captains out of seniority, but take the in QOL and the way you "can" pick up trips if you want, the 10-20K per year gets much smaller with the options.
