I've been DHing a lot lately. You just need to go to Crew Travel (on the Travelnet page) fill in the info to add your name to the listing that's already been built by crew scheduling. Then you'll have a seat # and a record locator number that you can take to Delta.com and move your seat. Within 24 hours of your dept you can move to an economy comfort seat/exit row for no charge.

I think the only time Company Business function is involved is if you are deviating from DH. Ironically, then you can move your seat to econcomfrt as soon as you're part of that system. I guess regular employees traveling positive space have more flexibility with seat assignments than crew.
