Now since we are speculating, whose to say that AWA would not have merged with another carrier? I see you fail to remember that usair was not a first choice but rather a second in AWA's airline merger plans. Its safe to assume had they merged with the first choice usair would have been left to liquidate and the pieces picked off for pennies on the dollar.
Usair has survived and you are piloting aircraft here today for no other reason than that merger so yes you have benefited at our expense. This company has hired pilots since that time some of which are flying as captains today while west pilots 12 and more years senior to them are being held hostage by east mandated greed. This is further evidence of the east benefiting at the expense of an entire pilot group. I am sure you will come up with some self serving excuse to explain the above but the fact still remains.

So, to the victor goes the spoils? What exactly did you have to do with the merger? I'd bet you didn't support it.
Why didn't Doug merge with that other carrier? Why didn't he let US die. Oh, that's right, he didn't have any money and he got the entire US system, the one that is making most of the money now, for NO MONEY DOWN and easy payments. The money US raised paid off your ATSB loan.
We both worked for also-ran airlines that are much stronger today than they would have been absent the merger. By far the strongest parts came from the US side. It's just the way it is.
Are you piloting aircraft for US Airways? I'm not piloting any aircraft purchased by AWA.
The transition agreement, the one you guys AGREED to, coupled with the Nicolau award led to this. Get over it, you have the legal answer and you're about to get your Nic. What else do you want?
