Most mid-level FOs and junior Captains I know are trying to get out. It's pretty hard when only a few LCCs are hiring. The pilot hiring environment is super competitive. Most places, our Captains would take a pay cut for 5 years.

A good amount of our pilots are flying safely & exactly by the book. I think the problem is that the entire pilot group isn't on board. We have a lot of outstations, and many Captains have moved there to have a decent quality of life. They get comfortable, make an ok living, and don't want to disrupt that. Meanwhile the person sitting to his right has their life on hold for a new contract or upgrade. At the end of the day, the Captain sets the tone.
