but the luster of flying an airplane for compensation has worn off. That feeling would have happened after 6 months at any airline not just here.

Amazing that all of the enjoyment of a job can be sucked out of the young and eager in such a short period of time. This doesn't even take into account the time deducted for people to have completed the initial training and IOE.
Maybe airline flying really is THAT bad!
