The most junior 717A (awarded) is about 900 numbers senior to the most junior M88A going through 717 training right now. I'm sure it's legal, however I'll bet some of those between those two numbers who bid it, but didn't get it aren't quite so understanding.
Looks also like many junior DC9A's who got displaced couldn't hold the same position on what some would call it's replacement due to SLI dynamics. I guess the same could be said for moving the 320's, 330's and other planes around. I remember reading in about 5 years from the SLI date is when some of the angst would start to become apparent for certain seniority levels. Is what it is.
