Unfortunately, judging from about 50% of the posts on this website it is not mandatory to know how to either spell or proofread. And grammar? I'd say upwards of 70% of the pilots posting aren't able to craft a 6th grade level paragraph.

That being said, please go to college. Major in something useful. Don't look for the easy way out.
