What I am doing is shining a light on what I perceive to be a very complacent and non-confrontational pilot group, which has been, over time, egregiously and continuously fleeced by a company that takes advantage of our good nature. And it's my perception that we're represented by a "union" that uses our integrity (or naivete) against us for its own gain. And we have no one to blame for this but ourselves.
I know my posts tend to be over the top, and I do apologize if I go too far or engage in personal attacks. Having said that, it is my goal to rock the boat and press the debate.
I've said it many times. I like working here, and I like 98% of the guys I fly with. I want us to stay informed so we can hold the company and ALPA accountable. There's more to the picture than the company's/ALPA's talking points. I urge us to:
1) never get complacent about our relatively favorable position in the industry
at this moment;
2) always remember the company is not our friend, and is not looking out for us;
3) never assume ALPA has our best interests anywhere near the top of its priorities; and most importantly
4) never stop fighting (and we will need to fight) to improve our career viability, pay, benefits, and QOL.
