Not much on the east side (Africa) as far as infrastructure
also, don't know how much fun dealing with summer ATL thunderstorms would be after a 17 hour trip, even if "fresh" relief crew up front.
We get in at 6am, thunderstorms in ATL are usually played out by then, not a factor, and there's lots of places to put down short of ATL, like...Orlando! (where my car is!).
The longest one I had was January, 1 1/2 years ago, it was snowing in ATL, the ramp was a skating rink, big headwinds, etc. I think we were in the jet over 21 hours, about 18 of it in flight. We had 310,000# fuel on board that night. I thought we were going to slide off the hill, down into the jet base when turing onto ramp 6!

Luckily, reverse thrust will back you up a hill!
