This is correct, just the SIC type initially. It's my understanding though, that the PIC type will be done either before August or at the next PC. the reason for this, I was told, is because theree are not enough check airman available to conduct all the ATP/type rides for everyone. Don't know if thats the truth or not. Also keep in mind, if you go to the 170, you'll have to sign a 2 year training contract.
