We could discuss this at length, but it would be helpful to base the conversation on what the FDA LOA and the CBA (specifically Section 6) actually say about relocation. The FDA LOA says very little -- it refers to the CBA for "the standard." The standard in Section 6 of the CBA is very straightforward, and that standard was there long before Hong Kong or Paris were proposed as pilot assignments. A pilot receiving a relocation allowance for moving from Anchorage to Memphis would have to meet the same standard.

The rules which The Company put forth in the FDA LOA and the CBA -- the rules to which the pilots agreed -- are not convoluted or archaic. They're not the problem.

The problem is the rules which The Company has not put forth, the rules which they are apparently using but not sharing. They may be convoluted and/or archaic, but we really don't know, because they refuse to tell us what they are.
