My issue with him on the current subject is his claim of exposure to the industry. Big deal!!! Years of experience really do count. I can only say this now that I'm a touch older. I didnt think it mattered when I was a young hot shot Brasilia captain. The one good thing about age is having the ability to look back and learn from all you've experienced. The old adage of pax wanting a gray haired pilot is a good indicator of experience. Not perfect but good enough. I would say that 80's claim was a touch more arrogant. Your post though is downright disgraceful. Have some class Purple.
Fair enough... I was trying to spar with him and didn't have solid ground. I'll always admit when I've been bested, and this is one of those cases.
Ane hey, I've got some gray hairs.

I grew up not just watching my dad pack and go on trips, but immersing myself in aviation. I listened to stories, asked questions from the various pilots that lived around us, and that is a lot of the reason why I had such a quick run- I listened and learned early.
I still disagree with sailing's premise that because they used to do it that way it is ok.
